Ceramic Ring – Model-specific – Bystronic

A ceramic ring (ceramic nozzle holder / ceramic body) sits between the cutting head body and the nozzle. It electrically insulates the nozzle for capacitive height sensing and transmits the signal that keeps the stand-off distance accurate, while absorbing impact energy in a crash to protect the head, sensor and optics.

Breakaway insert that protects the head in a crash.

Key features

  • High-strength zirconia / alumina ceramic: heat resistant and electrically insulating
  • Embedded copper contacts for a clean capacitive signal and stable height tracking
  • Correct height and thread for a square, play-free seat on the head body
  • Sacrificial design: absorbs crash energy before the head, sensor or optics are damaged
  • Drop-in replacement for the OEM ceramic body

Compatibility

Designed for laser cutting heads that use this exact ring size and thread. Breakaway insert that protects the head in a crash. If your head has been upgraded or you are unsure, cross-reference the OEM part number or send us a photo of the old part and we will confirm before you order.

Installation & maintenance

  1. Undo the retaining nut, lift out the damaged ceramic ring and clean the seat of spatter and debris.
  2. Seat the new ring squarely, then fit the nozzle and run the height-sensor calibration.
  3. Replace when the ceramic is cracked, chipped, discoloured, or when height alarms and signal drift appear.
  4. Never overtighten the nut: mechanical stress, not laser heat, is the most common cause of failure.
